- Note
- This 13-story building was named after the Los Angeles Investment Company, a major landowner, builder, and housing developer in the early 20th century. It was designed by Ernest McConnell, who worked as the in-house architect and also designed several historic downtown buildings for the company. This famous Beaux Arts style building was later sold to a wealthy rancher and capitalist, Charles Chapman, after it went through a financial problem in the mid-1910s. Located to the north of the Los Angeles Investment Company was the noted Garland building designed by Morgan, Walls & Morgan in the Beaux Arts style and housed the Morosco Theatre, now known as the Globe Theatre.
