- Note
- The Seventh and Broadway intersection in the early Downtown Los Angeles was the major corridor for retail and theater businesses. It also served as western terminus for Route 66 and main route for the Los Angeles Railway streetcars and the Pacific Electric Red Cars. The Bullock's department store prominently depicted in the image was founded in 1907. The Loew’s State Theatre building, located across from the Bullock’s, was designed by Charles Peter Weeks and William Day. This 12-story office building was constructed with red brick and terracotta. The theater opened in 1921 and closed in the late 1990s. The building is now known as the United Building.
