- Description
- Wooden carved statue of Virgen de la Divina Providencia (Our Lady of Divine Providence). Mary is depicted seated on a throne, hands together in prayer. The backrest of the throne is painted with the Puerto Rican flag facing outward from behind Mary. In Mary's lap lays the Christ child, whose left arm is outstretched so that his hand is held between her two hands pressed together in prayer. On Mary's lefthand armrest rests a white dove of peace. Beneath the platform, facing to the left, right, and rear are three blossoms of the Flor de Maga (magician's flower), the flower of Puerto Rico.
