VIDA Special “Edition 9{ezvs letter VIDA Special Edition Newsletter Volume 1, Number One Editor's Note: This Special Edition Newsletter of VIDA comes to you with an invitation to read and participate in the success of VIDA. The purpose of VIDA Magazine is to create a medium where students, and all those interested in writing and expressing themselves can do so. Increasing awareness and communication among the LMU community is an essential component of VIDA Magazine. LMU students, and professors are welcome to submit any works. These works can range from writing poetry to photography. Short stories, opinion articles, reports concerning issues, drawings, sketches, photography, poetry, book reviews, and announcements are encouraged. VIDA Magazine is picking up its feet! The Spring semester is full of great potential. If you are interested please come to the first general meeting, taking place December 6 at 9pm in Seaver 101. SDS is the Student Development Services, which consists of the Offices of Black Student Services (OBSS), the Asian/Pacific Student Services (APSS) and the Chicano Latino Student Services (CLSS), These services were created and established in the midst of the empowerment era of the Student Movements. In the Fall of 1969, the Mexican American Studies Program and the Black Studies Program were established under the Sociology Department at Loyola Marymount University.
