- Note
- The Union Bank Building was built in 1922 and designed by the Curlett & Beelman, one of the most successful architecture firms in Los Angeles in the early 20th century. The building showed features of the Renaissance Revival and Beaux Arts styles with facades of limestone-colored terra cotta. Its flat roof was capped with an overhanging decorative metal cornice. The original office entrance was adorned with decorative metal frames. The Union Bank and Trust Company was established by Kaspare Cohn in 1914 under the original name of Kaspare Cohn Commercial and Savings Bank. It was a significant financial institution associated with the commercial development of Los Angeles in the early twentieth century and the expansion of the downtown business district in the 1920s.
