мзт COLLECTIVE WORK AND SGI A January 15-22 the students of Loyola Marymount voted on an additional $10,000 to the Supplementary Grant in Aid Pro¬ gram, making it a total of $20,000. $9,999.99 has been allocated to the program by the Board of Governors. On January Dth the Judicial Council set guidelines for the re- election. The Judicial Council stated that the election must have a minimum of 1000 students voting in the new election. In the last election approximately 900 students voted. The election was to be held more than three days. The election committee also re¬ viewed all matters concerning the SGIA. The outcome of the six day election was voided because of the lack of obtaining 1000 student votes. The total amount that voted was 988 students. Now the SGIA program has to function on $9,999.99 instead of $20,000. The committee for the SGIA was selected at the last Board of Governors meet¬ ing, and five students were chosen along with the c hairman, Larry Braxton. The committee will now begin setting up guidelines for the ap¬ plication and the applicants. John Sessions stated that the application for the SGIA will be quickly drawn up and sent to every student that attends LMU. Now that the SGIA program has limited funds, many students will not be receiving grants. Last year the program had $20,000 and 111 students received aid. Ail students in need of a grant, request an application form, fill it out and return it promptly to Malone 109. All applicants will be interviewed by the SGIA committee at a designated time and place. BLACK ENOUGH FOR YOU A new program has been added to KXLU. It’ s called "Black Enough For You." The debut is scheduled for Saturday February 2, 1974 in the early afternoon. It consists of an hour of soothing music, updates on sports events, and live interviews of out¬ standing members and leaders of the comm¬ unity. Also incorporated in the program is a historigraphical account of outstanding . Black people in American history-reaching far back into time, and spanning the years up until the present. When asked for a report on the progress of the program, Larry Braxton, coordi¬ nator of the operation, replied "The pro¬ gram is a very sucessful program. The only thing that will make it a more suc¬ cessful program is more participation." Each show is taped the previous Tue- day from 7pm - 9pm. People with the time and the desire to go interview sports and community personalities are more than welcome to participate. "We have the equip¬ ment, all you need is the time and dedi¬ cation."
