- Reverend Theodore Marshall, S.J., had served as Library Director, and Dorothy O'Malley had served as University Librarian. They both contributed to the building of Special Collections at Loyola Marymount University. T. Marie Chilton was among the major donors of the University. In her lifetime, Chilton loaned her collection of 400 rare books to the university library and ultimately offered them as gifts to LMU .
