Athletics Cites ‘Violations of LMU Student
Conduct Code’ as Reason for Suspension

Loyola Marymount University
suspended freshman basketball

tion of the University’s Student Con¬
duct Code,” according to a state¬
ment released by the LMU Athlet¬
ics Department. The players will
miss the entire 1994-95 basketball
season.

Late last Friday, November 1 9, a
Loyola Marymount student was
held up at gunpoint by two armed
men on Manchester Boulevard.
The two men departed after search¬
ing sophomore Pat Enquist for
money while holding a pistol to his
at approximately 1:00 a.m. He had
declined a ride from a friend and
was walking the three long blocks
home to his apartment in the Peach
Towers on Manchester. At the
other side of Lincoln and Manches¬
ter, in front of the Thai Cuisine
Restaurant, he was first ap¬
proached.
A four-door white sedan pulled
into the driveway in front of Enquist
asked him where he had come
from. Enquist said he had just left
the Fireside, and the man replied,
“If you came from there then I know
you have money.”
When Enquist again denied he
had money on him, the man pulled
an automatic pistol from behind his
back and held it to Enquist’s head.
Enquist quickly handed over his
wallet, which the man searched
while still holding the weapon

finding the wallet empty, he threw it

Be Held Dec. 7 & 9

Wednesday, December 7 and
Friday, December 9 mark
the dates of LMU’s annual choral
Christmas concert. Conducted by
Dr. Mary Breden, the concert will
feature Christmas tunes from the
two LMU choruses.
In addition, the men’s and
women’s choir will also perform at
the concert. The concert, to be
held at 8:00 p.m. in Sacred Heart
Chapel, will feature a talented
array of singers performing a va¬
riety of Christmas songs.
Sam Christensen, Vice Presi¬
dent of the choral executive board,
commented on the event: “If you
are looking for a way to get into
the holiday mood, you shouldn’t
miss it.” Christensen noted that
the LMU Christmas concert is “one
of the better concerts that our
community could attend.”
