In Coming Spring Sing
The 1960 edition of the Loyola Spring Sing is now well under way. All partici¬
pating groups are practicing diligently for the annual festivity. Eliminations have
been set for Friday, March 25, and Saturday, March 26, in the old library. These are
open to all those who hold a ticket to the actual Spring Sing.
IRC Runs
Anticipating the current success
of the Lion’s largely sophomore
basketball team, the Loyola argu-
fiers, mostly second year men,
through their debating prowess
have amassed enough laminated
plaques and assorted loving cups
in the past 12 months to stock a
medium sized trophy showroom.

Massard Tells
Of Research
Jack Massard reported this week
on his three - week research tour
in the Midwest and Eastern
United States ort behalf of Loyola
University’s forthcoming School of
Communications Arts.
Well Liked
Massard ’s proposed program for
Loyola met with enthusiastic re¬
sponse from communication edu¬
cators and professionals. Most of
them noted that Los Angeles, as
a communications center, would
be an ideal location for a thought¬
ful graduate program in the field
of creative writing.
The people to whom Massard
presented * his program particu¬
larly liked the heavy stress on
writing and the integrated cburse
sequences stressing the basic re¬
lationship between the three writ¬
ing techniques in the mediums of
advertising, television and jour¬
nalism.
