- Description
- This small work is based on a border detail from the 2009 serigraph, The Last Supper. In 2016, a family friend of John August Swanson, Sister Therese N. Grenier, passed away, and the Swanson Studio created the prayer card for her funeral. Sister Grenier's close friend, Sister Carmela Lacayo, asked for an artwork to go with the Robert Kennedy quote, "Each act of justice sends a ripple of hope". In response, Swanson worked on many of his small sketches involving water. It was not chosen to be used for Sister Grenier's service, but it was later used in Swanson's 2017 poster, Mother Earth.
