- Description
- A portable shrine containing a carved wooden statue of Kannon Bosatsu, the Thousand Arm Avalokiteśvara and goddess of mercy. The case is cylindrical with two double-hinged doors. The exterior of the case is painted with black lacquer and has two double-hinged doors. The interior of the case is gilded. Lotus blossoms are painted on each door. Text on the left door reads "Gondai sozu." Text on the right door is the name of a monk which could be the maker or owner.
