- Opened in 1906, the Hotel Alexandria was designed by John B. Parkinson. Located at 501 South Spring Street / 210 West Fifth Street, the hotel was name after its owner Harry Alexander. This luxury hotel was the center of social life in Downtown Los Angeles during the 1920s. It had entertained many famous guests, such as President Theodore Roosevelt, President William Howard Taft, Mary Pickford, and Charlie Chaplin.
