- Caption: "A leaf from Peter Lombard's Sentences in Latin on vellum. Gothic littera bastarda script in light brown ink, ruled in brown, written in two columns of 31 lines, with chapters indicated by altering red and blue initials decorated with penscroll work in the same two colors. Wide margins provided for textual glossing. Compiled by Peter Lombard during the middle of the 12th century, the Sentences were a collection of writings of the Latin Fathers on church doctrine, arranged by topic."
