Description
A portable shrine containing a wooden statue of Amitābha (Amida Buddha) sitting on a gilded wooden platform. Amitābha wears light blue robes and holds a lotus blossom basin, representing protection. The top of the platform is painted with black and red stripes. The case is cylindrical and has two double-hinged doors. The interior is painted gold and is blackened by smoke from burning incense. The case appears to be newer than the statue.
