Description
John August Swanson used his artwork, Crucifixion III, on posters to fight to end the death penalty in 2012 and 2016. English and Spanish language posters were created to promote the proposition. California Proposition 62 on the November 8, 2016 ballot was defeated. It would have repealed the death penalty in the State of California and imposed a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole for death row inmates.
