- In September of 1935, Betty the mountain lion, a gift from the students of the University of Arizona, escaped from its pen. It was eventually captured by Culver City Police (Chief C. T. Truschel). Reverend Lorenzo Malone was the Treasurer of Loyola University of Los Angeles from 1935 to 1936 and 1938 to 1943. He then served as the Vice President from 1943 to 1952.
