Handwritten family correspondence from Miguel in Los Angeles to his father Juan Venegas in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, regarding continued pressure from creditors and his struggles with his debts and dishonesty in Mexico, dismissal of the idea to return to Zapotlanejo because of the need for political change there, the abundant correspondence with family and acquaintances in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Zapotlanejo, the monetary requirements for immigrating to the United States without being relegated to laborer, the need for knowing English upon arrival, and poor business at his store in Los Angeles.
