- Lake Hollywood is a reservoir built in 1924 as part of the Owens River Aqueduct system. It has a capacity of 2.5 billion gallons of water and is dammed on the south side by the Mulholland Dam, built by water-services engineer William Mulholland (1855-1935)" The reservoir lies to the west of Griffith Park and has three entrance gates: one at Hollywood Drive on the north, one at Tahoe Drive on the east, and one at Weidlake Drive on the south.
