Description
On August 29, 2018, Ascension Lutheran Church in Thousand Oaks, CA contacted the Swanson Studio to create an eighteen foot tall wall covering taken from John August Swanson’s 1987 serigraph, The River. However, Swanson felt that the original 1987 serigraph lacked the details needed for an artwork more than seven times the size of the original piece. This ink drawing on mylar was scanned, digitally resized, color matched, and added to the eighteen foot tall artwork file by the John August Swanson Studio. While creating the digital file, Swanson decided to release a giclee edition of the artwork with the additional drawings and details. The River giclee file was completed on November 28, 2018. The wall covering was further adapted and installed at Ascension Lutheran Church on December 22, 2018.
