- Note
- The Hollywood Park Turf Club opened to the public in June 1938. The original building was designed by Los Angeles architect Stiles O. Clements (1883-1966) and the landscape was designed by Edward Huntsman-Trout. Later additions were made by Frederick Barlow Jr. In 1949, a fire destroyed much of the clubhouse and grandstand, which were rebuilt by architect Arthur Froehlich, and the club reopened in 1950. The Lakeside Turf Course in the center of the outer race track was opened in 1967. A major expansion of the clubhouse and stables was made in 1972, doubling the size of the Turf Club. A 20-million dollar renovation and reconstruction project began in 1991 which included adding a Garden Paddock, a Player's Club and Study Hall, and a general refurbishment of the existing buildings. The second part of the project also added a new Hollywood Bar and an area for families called North Park. A casino was added in 1994.
