- Note
- Jim Brownfield (1929 - 2010) joined the coaching staff of Loyola University in 1969, the same year the school was named National Club Football Association Champions. Staying with the University only a few years, Brownfield went on to achieve prominence as a girl's track and field coach and football coach at John Muir High School in Pasadena through the 1980s and 1990s. During his tenure, the Muir High football team won Southern Section football championships in 1985 and 1986 and the girl's track team won state championships in 1985 and 1989. In this photograph, Loyola Lions' Starting Quarterback Jim Ertman, at right, had been injured, and he was forced to sit out the upcoming game against St. Mary's.
