- The traditional Lion Dance, an important aspect of Chinese New Year celebration, is believed to scare away evil spirits and bring good luck. Two dancers - one as the head, the other as the body - perform dances that tell stories from Chinese folklore and mythology, to musical accompaniment by drum, cymbals and gong.
