- Broadway was a major corridor of Downtown Los Angeles from the late 1890s to the mid-1900s. It ran from Lincoln Heights through Chinatown, Central Plaza, and Civic Center. Broadway was a popular destination for shopping and entertainment. The historic landmark theaters on Broadway included the Million Dollar, the Orpheum, the Palace, and the State theatres.
