- Bernard Rosecrans Hubbard, S.J., (1888-1962), known as the "Glacier Priest," was an explorer, photographer, and popular lecturer. He served his regency at LMU's Los Angeles College from 1913 to 1918 teaching first year high school, Spanish, and serving as Moderator of Athletics. Mt. Lowe Observatory, pictured here, was a popular destination for his many student outings. Fr. Hubbard's papers are in the archives at Santa Clara University.
