- In 1906, President Theodore Roosevelt approved the Los Angeles Water Supply Bill to the Secretary of the Interior. The Right of Act was passed allowing the City of Los Angeles to acquire lands and water rights in Owens Valley for the construction of the Los Angeles Aqueduct.
