- Note
- In 1906, President Theodore Roosevelt approved the Los Angeles Water Supply Bill to the Secretary of the Interior. The Right of Act was passed allowing the City of Los Angeles to acquire lands and water rights in Owens Valley for the construction of the Los Angeles Aqueduct. The Act granted the City of Los Angeles the right to use public lands in the counties of Inyo, Kern, and Los Angeles, and over and through the Sierra Forest Reserve, the Santa Barbara Forest Reserve, and the San Gabriel Timber Land Reserve in California.
