- Note
- Bullock's department store contained most of apparel and household items. Arthur Letts, the owner of the Broadway Store, helped John G. Bullock, one of his famous employees including P. G. Winnett, to found Bullock's in 1907 at Seventh & Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. After Arthur Letts passed away, Bullock and P.G. Winnett bought out Letts' interest and the companies. John G. Bullock later opened a luxurious store located at Wilshire Boulevard in 1929. Broadway and Seventh street functioned as important retail corridors as the intersection was traversed by more than half a million people by 1924.
