- Note
- Father Clarence J. Wallen (aka Clancy Wallen), S.J., first taught at Loyola University of Los Angeles for one year in 1946-1947. After receiving his Ph.D. in Mathematics from St. Louis University, Father Wallen became a Mathematics Professor at Loyola University in 1956. He served as the department chair from 1971 to 1974 during the formation of Loyola Marymount University. Father Wallen retired in 1987, but continued to teach part-time until 1998. He passed away in 1999.
