- Note
- The Broadway Department Stores was founded in 1896 by Arthur Letts, Sr, an English immigrant. Its margketing strategey to target the cost-conscious customer brought a huge success. Arthur Letts helped John G. Bullock, one of his famous employees including P.G.Winnett, to found Bullock's in 1907 at Seventh & Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. After Arthur Letts passed away, Bullock and P.G. Winnett bought out Letts' interest and the companies.
