- Note
- Lincoln park, originally named East Los Angeles park, is located on Mission Road at Valley Blvd. The land was originally given to the Southern Pacific Railroad Company, with the expectation that the company would establish shops alongside the railroad, but when the Southern Pacific failed to build the promised shops, the city purchased back the land for use as a park. The park was dedicated in 1881, and in 1901, the name changed to Eastlake Park. The park was renamed again in 1917, to Lincoln Park, after a local high school. The park featured a lake covering over 6 acres, where visitors could go boating. It had a large conservatory and cactus with a collection of over 200 species of cacti, as well as the Los Angeles area's first zoological garden. It was also a popular spot for picnicking. Located just across from the park were two more popular tourist destinations: an Ostrich Farm and an Alligator farm.
