- Located at 1124 Broadway East, Tabarin (aka Tabarin Ball Room) was a popular bar and dance hall in Hongkew (Hongkou) District in the 1930s and 1940s. Hongkew was part of the International Settlement and was the location of the Restricted Area for Stateless Refugees (or "Shanghai Ghetto") where Jewish Holocaust refugees were forced to live from 1941-1945.
