- Description
- A newspaper or magazine clipping of a segment entitled "Strange as it Seems" by Elsie Hix. The text of this segment reads, "Tsuchi-Mikado, of Japan, remained unburied for 40 days after his death because there was no money for a funeral! A thermometer registers colder when first thrust suddenly into hot water! Don Klosterman broke 2 national records in one game! He attempted and completed more passes than ever before in one game--51 attempts, 26 completions! -Loyola U. of Los Angeles vs. College of Pacific, 1950." Each of the facts is accompanied by a black-and-white illustration: An interior scene with a body laid out on a table and covered by a sheet in the upper right, a hand holding a thermometer in a container of steaming liquid on the lower right, and football player Don Klosterman jumping and poised to throw a football on the left.
