- Swami Agnivesh is the former chair for the United Nations Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery and was the Minister of Education in Haryana, India in 1979. He best known for his work against bonded labor with the Bandhua Mukti Morcha (BMM) or Bonded Labour Liberation Front (BLLF). The “Social Service and Spirituality: a Hindu-Roman Catholic Dialogue" conference was co-sponsored by Loyola Marymount University and the Southern California Seminar on South Asia.
