- Nicole Powell created Harambee: An Approach to Activism Through Mentorship, an enrichment program to educate students at Westchester High School with accurate information about attending university during her junior year at Loyola Marymount University (LMU). Inspired by the Freedom School, each Harambee session began with chants, cheers, and a motivational song to energize the mentees.
