- Note
- The Court Flight was built by Samuel G Vandegrift, to serve the wealthy Bunker Hill neighborhood. Constructed in 1904, it rose 200 feet in about the same horizontal distance, running between Broadway and Court Streets, in the middle of the block between Temple and First Streets. City regulations mandated that there be a stairway running parallel to the track for persons who did not want to pay for the ride, thereby preventing a monopoly. The railway underwent renovations in 1936, but closed in 1943 when the line was damaged by a fire.
