- Note
- Ocean Front Walk was developed in the early 1900s along with the rest of the Venice area. The Bandstand building and the Scenic Railway were located on the west side of Ocean Front Walk on the North side of the Venice Pier. The Thompson Scenic Railroad was a roller coaster built in 1910 by the L. A. Thompson Company, and which ran until 1919. In 1946 the city council decided to tear down the Venice pier. The pier was slowly demolished, and what was not demolished in the area by 1946 was destroyed by a fire in 1947.
