Historical Background	Reverend Thomas P. Rausch, S.J., Ph.D. in Religion, served as Director of Campus Ministry at Loyola Marymount University from 1981 to 1985. In 1983-1984, Father Rausch was rector of the Jesuit community at LMU from 1988 to 1994, and he was Chair of the Department of Theological Studies from 1994 to 2002. He has also been Professor of Theological Studies and T. Marie Chilton Professor of Catholic Theology. A specialist in the areas of ecclesiology, ecumenism, and the theology of the priesthood, Father Rausch has published seventeen books and over 200 articles.
