Description |
On the front of the original photographic postcard is written, "The First Bishop Taxi." The identity of the occupants of the automobile is unknown, although on the back of the photograph is written, "Baldy Tarrington" perhaps the driver. Tarrington was a friend of John Black, father of J. D. Black. Title supplied by cataloger. |
Historical Background |
The original photograph was probably taken in Bishop, California. The tag "First Bishop Taxi" may be in jest. The automobile is probably a 1908 Maxwell Model HC, made by the Maxwell-Briscoe Company. |
