Clipping
"The activities of Brownson House have been taken over and will henceforth be financed by the National Catholic War Council."
My dear Father Corr,
Very regretfully, I call your attention to the enclosed clipping which I took from the Tidings of Dec. 26. It was a shock to many of us, including a majority of the Directors of Brownson House Settlement Association. We believe that you did not authorize this statement. It will be generally construed as meaning a change of management at Brownson House and is in contradiction to our mutual understanding and agreement. We also fear that it may check voluntary contributions to our work. The statement is misleading to the general public.
Very sincerely yours,
Mary J. Workman
