Description	A business card advertising John Francis Dockweiler's campaign for the office of Governor of California. The address for the campaign headquarters is printed in the upper left, and the name "Arthur M. Donaher" is printed in the lower right corner. The printer's logo is in the lower left corner. The reverse is blank.
Historical Background	The Dockweiler family has been closely intertwined with Los Angeles religious, political, and civic life. John Francis Dockweiler (d. 1943) was one of thirteen children born to Isidore Dockweiler (1867-1947) and Gertrude Reeve Dockweiler (1871-1937), eleven of whom survived infancy. John Francis followed in his father's political footsteps, serving as a Democratic U.S. Congressman (1933-1939), District Attorney of Los Angeles County (1940-1943), and running unsuccessfully for governor of California in the 1938 Democratic primary.
