Historical Background |
Werner von Boltenstern donated his extensive personal collection of postcards to Loyola University of Los Angeles in 1967. Born in Berlin, Germany in 1904, he emigrated to the United States in 1947 and pursued a career in Los Angeles as a freelance photographer. Werner von Boltenstern continued to add to his LMU donation until his death in 1978. Reverend Theodore Marshall, S.J., had served as Library Director and contributed to the building of Special Collections at Loyola Marymount University. |
