Bob Boyd (1928 - 2009) attended Loyola University between 1947 and 1950, and actually excelled in three sports during his time as a student: football, track and field, and boxing. He set all-time school records in the 100 yard dash and 220 yard dash, and won the NCAA Championship in the 100 yard dash in 1950. After graduation, Boyd went on to a distinguished NFL career with the Los Angeles Rams, reaching a personal great in 1954 when he caught 53 passes for 1,212 yards and 6 touchdowns.
