Historical Background |
Anton Grauel (1897-1971) was a renowned German sculptor. He immigrated to the United States after World War II, and later settled in El Segundo, California. In 1964, he was commissioned to create the Seat of Wisdom on Loyola Marymount University campus, located between Desmond Hall and Rosecrans Hall. Some of his artwork are now housed in the Department of Archives and Special Collections in the LMU library. |
