Historical Background	Reverend James Markey, S.J., taught Theology at Loyola University of Los Angeles from 1957 to 1975, and he was moderator of student publications at Loyola. He also served as Director of Summer School from 1969 to 1975. In 1975, Father Markey became chaplain of Loyola Law School until 1988.
