Historical Background |
Brother John Pereira joined the Jesuits in 1917. He was assigned to Loyola University at 1923, and later he moved with the university from the Venice Boulevard campus to the Westchester campus. As the ground supervisor, Brother Pereira planted a great number of palm trees around the campus, most of which have since been taken down or replaced as the campus grew. Brother Pereira passed away in 1953. |
